Here is another story of a CUSP student who lived in our dorm, graduated from high school and then went on to graduate from college. She is now working as a high school teacher.
Sreykea grew up in the village of Korky which is located in the rural area outside of Kampong Thom.
Sreykea is on the left with her two parents and a brother. She has another brother and sister who are not in the picture. Her sister is married, and her youngest brother is away at school.

Sreykea joined the CUSP dorm in 2012 and graduated from high school in 2015. She is pictured here next to the vegetable gardens by the girls’ dorm. The students manage these gardens.
Sreykea and Lorm became good friends while at the dorm. Then they attended the Royal University of Phnom Penh together. Both studied to become teachers.
Sreykea graduated from the university in 2019. She studied an additional year to become a teacher which she paid for by working while attending school.
She now teaches Civics and Ethics to 7th, 11th and 12th graders. She teaches at schools which are located about 24 kilometers outside of Kampong Thom. CUSP high school dorms are located in Kampong Thom.
